Kanzashi hairbandSometimes you want to change the world around you, make it more colorful and brightful. You may change the boring brown curtains or sullen gray carpet on the floor. Or indulge in a fashion accessory or original ornament for the hair. The "tsumami kanzashi" technique allows you to create unusual hoops, barrettes, rubber bands, brooches, decorative items and Christmas gifts. The popularity of this technique is due to the absolute availability of materials at very stunning result. I propose a detailed master - class on making a hair-band tsumami kanzashi.

Valentine Teddy bear magnet

on 07 February 2012. Posted in Lessons - Clay modelling

teddy_previewEvery one of us wants to make something special to our beloved for the Saint Valentine's day. Teddy's hearts, lovely cards and so on, name it and it is in the list. And even though that shops are abound with any types of cuddly Valentine Teddy bears, I prefer to make one myself. Or should I say my daughter, since it it was her idea to make a fridge magnet for her father.

Heart shaped soap for Valentine's day

I've already prepared a present for my husband for the Valentine's day, but there are many other people, who'd appreciate a small sign of care and attention - mother and mother-in-law, father, kids, close friends. I think they all will be excited to get a great present for this special day - a whole set of heart shaped hand made soap with their favourite fragrances. It does not take too much time to make these little soaps, but it is great for bonding a family relationship. Shall we start?

A chain stitch fishing line necklace

on 18 January 2012. Posted in Lessons - Beading

chainstitch necklace This lovely airy necklace made of a fishing line is probably the first big project, that russian beaders start their jewelry-making career. In russian we call it airy, and it has a double meaning. First of all - the necklace elements are hanging in the air, if you choose a thin fishing line. And the second - it is made of a chain stitch, or as we call it air stitch. This type of a bijoux is very simple, and yet very impressive. I've personally became interested in beading after seeing this wonderful necklace. The best point is, that you do not need any specific knowledge to make it - just a chainstitch with a crochet hook. Let's have a look on how it is made.
